Daniel Radcliffe Explains Why He Doesn’t Use Social Media

Speaking of Harry Potter film stars, Daniel Radcliffe has finally explained why he isn’t on social media. That’s no exaggeration either, Radcliffe has no social media accounts on any platforms as far as we know.

In a recent interview, Radcliffe revealed the reason behind this decision and more.

Radcliffe, star of the eight-film Harry Potter series and of the recently released film Escape From Pretoria, appeared on the popular YouTube talk show, Hot Ones. Hosted by Sean Evans, this talk show is one of the most popular and beloved on the entire internet and over the years has gained surprising notoriety.

Spanning 13 seasons with over 201 guests, Hot Ones has amassed 9.63 million subscribers on YouTube. The show has hosted media icons like Billie Eilish, Mathew McConaughey, Paul Rudd, Shia LaBeouf, Gordon Ramsey and so many more. The episodes, usually between 15-30 minutes, play out like a normal interview, the catch being that while Evans asks questions, He and the guest eat chicken wings with extremely hot wing sauce.

Watching these celebrities struggle to keep composure is hilarious and part of the reason why the show is so popular. While most love the show, it’s had its share of controversy due to others blatantly copying Evans’ brand and formula.

Anyways, Radcliffe was a guest in the most recent episode and spoke about his issue with social media platforms like Twitter. “I would love to say there’s some sort of intellectual, well throughout reason for this because I considered getting a Twitter and I 100 percent know that if I did, you all would be waking up to stories like ‘Dan Radcliffe gets into fight with random person on Twitter’,” said Radcliffe.

Radcliffe gave no elaboration about what he’d probably get into these online debates about so it’s difficult to speculate. However, Radcliffe has been quite public about political topics in the recent past so that wouldn’t be a terrible guess.

“When I was younger, not anymore thank god, I would like to look up comments about myself on the internet and read shit like that. That is an insane and bad thing to do. And to me, like Twitter and everything just feels like an extension of that. Unless I want to go just read all nice things about myself, which also feels like another unhealthy thing to do,” added Radcliffe.

It’s great to hear the celebrity is watching his mental health and making good decisions for himself as we know how stressful having social media as a public figure can get.
